Go Betty Go Release New Song “Party At Sea”

Los Angeles-based band Go Betty Go is about to release their new EP, Black & Blue, through Wiretap Records on September 13. This EP includes six tracks, featuring two fan-favorite songs from their early years that have been newly recorded. Black & Blue was produced by Davey Warsop, known for his work with bands like The Used and Face to Face. You can pre-save the EP now.

To give fans a preview, Go Betty Go has dropped the first song and video from Black & Blue. You can listen to “Party At Sea” on your favorite streaming platform and watch the video on YouTube.

Go Betty Go’s music stands out with Betty Cisneros’ powerful guitar, Nicolette Vilar’s strong vocals, Michelle Rangel’s driving bass, and Aixa Vilar’s dynamic drumming.

Nicolette Vilar shared that Black & Blue has been in the works for a long time. They started on the songs when the pandemic began but had to pause, like everyone else. When they finally got back to the studio, they were hit with Betty’s Stage 4 cancer diagnosis in May 2022. This was a tough time for the band, but they decided to stay strong and do everything they could to support Betty in her fight against cancer. This experience even brought back some old ideas that they finally finished. Two of the songs, “City Lights” and “Am I To Blame,” were written years ago when Emily Wynne-Hughes, also known as Emily Valentine, was in the band. Nicolette had left the band for a while, and Emily took over, but Nicolette returned years ago. For this EP, they brought Emily back to help rework those old songs that had never been released.

Nicolette added that they are proud of the EP, which reflects the grit and determination they all showed during this difficult time. Black & Blue represents the bruises life gave them over the years, but just like bruises heal, they overcame the challenges to create this EP.

Go Betty Go first emerged in the Los Angeles music scene in 2000 when they were in high school in Glendale, CA. The punk band quickly moved from local shows to gaining a national reputation through nonstop touring and critical acclaim. This included two long runs on the Warped Tour, cross-country tours, and a big presence at South by Southwest. They were signed by SideOneDummy, which released their debut EP Worst Enemy in 2004 and their album Nothing Is More in 2005. After some lineup changes and a break, the original members reunited and released their 2015 EP Reboot independently. In 2023, they teamed up with Wiretap Records. Their music is featured on SiriusXM’s Underground Garage, where they’ve earned titles like “New Music Spotlight” and “Coolest Song in the World.” Their songs have also been featured in the Netflix series Cobra Kai and the Hulu movie Prom Dates.
