Thrash metal fans have something exciting to look forward to, as Chicago’s MISFIRE is gearing up to release “Product Of The Environment” on May 2nd via MNRK Heavy. With a new single and video unveiled March 7th alongside preorders, the anticipation is building for this highly anticipated full-length album.

Founded by drummer James Nicademus in 2018, MISFIRE was born out of a desire to create music that serves as a therapeutic outlet for both the band and their fans. Despite facing challenges that could have derailed the group, Nicademus’s determination kept them on track, and MISFIRE emerged more resilient than ever.

The band’s lineup now includes vocalist Tim Jensen, guitarist Kostadin Kostadinov, and bassist/vocalist Dan Stapinski. This revitalized team is charging ahead with their sophomore album, “Product Of The Environment,” a project shaped by the significant transitions the band has experienced over the last three years. With shifting members, Jensen and Kostadinov filled in crucial roles during a pivotal time, and Stapinski eventually joined to round out their sound.

The album showcases the exceptional talents of each band member. Jensen delivers dynamic and melodic vocals, Kostadinov merges aggression with harmony in his guitar work, and Stapinski’s bass adds depth to every track. Nicademus remains a driving force behind their music, contributing guitar riffs and maintaining the band’s cohesive energy.

Unlike their 2021 debut, “Sympathy For The Ignorant,” which was more of a raw, high-energy demo collection, “Product Of The Environment” offers a polished and refined sound. Recorded in Atlanta with co-producer/engineer John Douglass and mixer Alex Parra, the album addresses contemporary issues in tracks like “Artificially Intelligent” and “Privacy.” The lead single and video, “We Went Through Hell,” reflects the band’s perseverance through hardships.

Nicademus expands on the message of resilience in the song, stating, “We went through hell these last couple of years, but we made it through… and what doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger. This song is for anyone going through it. Let that aggression out with us!”

The album also features guest appearances such as guitar solos from Douglass, Parra, and Death Angel’s Rob Cavestany, with Exodus frontman Rob Dukes lending his voice to “Left For Dead.” Expect striking cover art by Rick Zesati, and find the album in various formats, including CD, LP, cassette, and digital.
