HATE is thrilled to announce the release of their title track, “Bellum Regiis,” from their upcoming full-length album set to hit the shelves on May 2nd through Metal Blade Records. As pioneers of Slavic black/death metal, HATE’s thirteenth studio album promises to be their most ambitious work yet.
Bellum Regiis showcases nine intense tracks that explore themes of power and conflict, as ATF Sinner leads the charge alongside guitarist Domin, drummer Nar-Sil, and bassist Tiermes. Under the skilled production of David Castillo at Grondahl Studio, the quartet offers a modern sound infused with haunting atmospheres and depth. The album provides a “humanity focused and personal” narrative compared to their previous release, Rugia, delving into “a struggle for power and everything that comes with it.”
The title track “Bellum Regiis” embodies the album’s core theme, translating to “A War of Royalty” or “A War of Kings.” As noted by the band, “As a song, ‘Bellum Regiis’ has both a deep melancholy and a sense of grandeur.” Eliza Sacharczuk’s vocals bring a timeless quality to the track, expressing the eternal struggles marked by our existence.
