Volbeat New Album “God Of Angels Trust” Dropping June 6th. Watch Video for Single “By a Monster’s Hand”

Exciting news from Volbeat! The band is set to drop their ninth album, “God Of Angels Trust”, on June 6, in partnership with their long-standing label Republic/Universal. They have also shared last month a thrilling video for their single, “By a Monster’s Hand.”

Fans can get a sneak peek of the album while looking forward to the band’s extensive summer tour, titled “Greatest Of All Tours Worldwide,” details of which are available below. Pre-Order.

The released video showcases Volbeat in their element, delivering high-energy performances intertwined with an unsettling narrative. Produced by Ghost Atomic and directed by Adam Rothlein—who has collaborated with the band on previous hits like “Shotgun Blues,” “Die To Live,” and “Leviathan”—the video captures the essence of Volbeat’s raw energy.

With “God Of Angels Trust”, the Danish rockers aim to push past conventional boundaries in songwriting. The result is an album that promises to captivate their dedicated fanbase. “In the past, I’ve taken a long time to write and obsessed over so many elements of the songs before finishing them,” shares lead vocalist Michael Poulsen. “This time, I wanted to make a Volbeat record without thinking too much about it. Instead of following any kind of structure I said, ‘Okay, there are no rules. I can do anything I want. I can start with a chorus or do songs that are just a bunch of verses stacked on top of each other. Anything goes.’ That was freeing for me and made it exciting to write this album.”

Poulsen began crafting songs in the summer of 2024, using a mere three weeks to work collaboratively with bandmates Jon Larsen and Kaspar Boye Larsen. Remarkably, they managed to create half of the album within that timeframe, veering into uncharted creative territory.

Entering the studio in fall 2024 with producer Jacob Hansen, the band recorded the album live to retain an authentic, spontaneous feel—a process that took just 13 days to complete.

The quick creation of “God Of Angels Trust” is nothing short of remarkable, resulting in an album that feels as rich and diverse as projects that typically require years to develop. “In some ways, it feels like we’ve come full circle,” Poulsen reflects. “If you start drawing a circle over an extended period of time, eventually you’re going to get back where you started, and that’s how I feel now… it feels like a rebirth.”

Volbeat is gearing up for their “Greatest Of All Tours Worldwide,” kicking off in June 2025. The tour will feature a co-headlining Canadian run with Three Days Grace and special guests Wage War, along with headlining shows in the U.S. with Halestorm and The Ghost Inside, followed by dates in Europe and the UK featuring Bush and Gel.
