CATTLE DECAPITATION is thrilled to announce the release of a two-hour documentary, “From This Flesh: A Cattle Decapitation Story,” in celebration of the second anniversary of their landmark tenth album, Terrasite. The film, captured and crafted by Australian videographer Nicholas VanVidler—known for creating the “Finish Them” music video in 2021—delves deep into the making of Terrasite and offers a fascinating retrospective on the band’s storied history.
Vocalist Travis Ryan shares, “Our buddy Nick VanVidler (NJV Media, Body Prison) went to make a studio documentary about Terrasite and what came out was more of an extremely introspective look into the band as a whole with a specificity on how we write and record albums. It’s insightful, intense, funny, sad, unfiltered, immersive, and if you’re a longtime true fan of the band, you gotta see this thing.” Don’t miss this immersive experience—watch the documentary now!

CATTLE DECAPITATION’s 2019 album Death Atlas marked a pinnacle in their stark portrayal of the impending apocalypse, but they once again astounded the metal scene with their 2023 release, Terrasite. The album pushes boundaries, offering layers of emotional and dynamic shifts.
Critics like Metal Injection have praised it as “another absolutely stellar release from these guys with lyrics and themes that represent the apex of today’s extreme music.” MetalSucks describes it as, “a powerful and important album,” and, “a must-listen for fans of extreme metal and… anyone who cares about the future of our planet.” Lambgoat appreciates their evolution into “a true and brilliantly executed hybrid of heavy death metal, brutal grind and lyrical terror.”

Terrasite made significant chart impacts, scoring #2 on the Current Hard Music Albums chart, #3 on the Current Independent Albums chart, and #4 on the Rock Albums chart, while also featuring on several Year End Lists globally. The album showcases artwork by Wes Benscoter and benefits from the production expertise of Dave Otero, featuring symphonic elements from Dis Pater of Midnight Odyssey.
