Vicious Rumors has exciting news for their fans: their new album, “The Devil’s Asylum”, is set to drop on August 29. The first single, “Bloodbath,” is available today, complete with a captivating music video.
After a five-year hiatus since their last release, the band has been active, playing over 150 shows. These performances have both showcased their impressive legacy and sparked fresh creativity, leading to their latest work, “The Devil’s Asylum”.
Band leader Geoff Thorpe explains, “The Devil’s Asylum sees us return to our roots, which we’ve combined with contemporary influences.” He looks back on their esteemed 45-year career, emphasizing their singular focus: “Everything we do should always be significant, every show, every song, every new album. This band has always stood for maximum intensity, powerful music, and lots of new, fresh ideas.”
Joining Thorpe are original member Larry Howe on drums and vocals and bassist Robin Utbult. Two new members, vocalist Chalice and guitarist Denver Cooper, have energized the band, elevating their chemistry and sound. Chalice and Denver hail from Cape Coral, Florida, adding fresh vigor to the group’s dynamic.
The band describes the “Bloodbath” music video as a thrilling blend of speed metal with melodic vocals and thrashy guitar riffs, showcasing their unique heaviness combined with mesmerizing speed and catchiness.
