Get ready for a brutal awakening with the debut album from death metal powerhouse, CORPUS OFFAL, coming March 21st via 20 Buck Spin! This self-titled LP marks 2025’s first release from the label, hailing from Austin, Texas, and comprised of members from Cerebral Rot, Bell Witch, Fetid, and Caustic Wound.
Emerging from the ashes of Cerebral Rot, CORPUS OFFAL features Ian Schwab (guitar/vocals, ex-Demoncy) and Clyle Lindstrom (guitar), alongside Jason Sachs (bass, ex-Demoncy) and Jesse Shreibman (drums, Bell Witch). Together, they create an ominous soundscape filled with gut-wrenching intensity. After a tantalizing demo last year, their full-length debut unfurls like “a festering corpse dragged from a midnight sewer; putrid, pulverizing, and perversely invigorating.”
This album is “a bludgeoning autopsy of death metal, gore, and deathgrind,” with tracks like “Spinous Forms Of Mortal Abhorrence” and “Corpus Offal” capturing the groovy, low-end melee familiar to fans of Cerebral Rot, while mutating into a more grotesque musical form. The guttural vox of Schwab invites listeners into a narrative of “morbid poetry, decomposing flesh, absurd experiments, and gruesome transgression.”
With production from the legendary Billy Anderson, the album closes with an apocalyptic impact, making you question if you just experienced a gruesome masterpiece. Dive headfirst into this carnage-laden aural experience. Followers of death metal legends like Disgorge, Goatlord, and Undergang should not miss this release.
Recorded at Jackpot! Recording Studio/Everything Hz and mastered by Dan Lowndes Resonance Sound, the album showcases artwork by Karina Monzon.
