Australia’s KING PARROT has just unleashed their latest single, “Punish The Runt.” This track is part of their upcoming full-length album, “A Young Person’s Guide To King Parrot,” which is slated for release on June 6th via Housecore Records in North America.
“Punish The Runt” is an engaging auditory experience filled with all the signature elements KING PARROT fans have grown to adore. This track is a fusion of modern grindcore with punk rock energy and groovy riffs, offering a genuine representation of the band’s distinct sound.
Vocalist Matt Young shares, “This new one is a personal favorite of mine. We enjoyed putting this one together and it’s got every aspect of what the band does in it: grind, thrash, punk, and even rock ‘n’ roll elements. It was one of the first tracks we put together in the writing sessions. We hope you all dig listening as much as we did writing.”

This record is KING PARROT’s first new release in five years, featuring ten intense anthems that showcase the band’s unique style, recorded at Melbourne’s Dangertone studios with engineer Luke Walton. It’s the first full-length since their acclaimed 2017 release “Ugly Produce” and their first new music since the 2022 “Holed Up In The Lair EP”.
KING PARROT recently concluded an extensive thirty-five-date arena tour in Europe and the UK as support for Pantera and Power Trip, followed by a European club tour with death metal legends, Master.
