Wounded Touch is gearing up to release their new album, “A Vivid Depiction Of Collapse,” through Smartpunk Records on May 16th. This latest offering from the metal heavy-hitters symbolically captures the band’s evolution, presenting an eleven-track journey through the stages of grief and acceptance, all against a fiercely intense musical backdrop.

You can catch a sneak peek of the album with their new single “Consequence and Broadcast.” For vinyl aficionados, pre-orders are already available.

Since their start, the Michigan-based Wounded Touch has embraced a guerrilla-style approach to music promotion, coupled with a strong DIY ethic. These strategies have earned them spots at top festivals and a successful UK tour, along with recognition in leading metal publications such as Metal Hammer, Brooklyn Vegan, and New Noise Magazine.

Reflecting on the single “Consequence and Broadcast,” the band shared, “Musically this wasn’t the first song written for the record, but it was the first song we’d completed with everyone as a band. It’s our trail of breadcrumbs from the last record to this one, and everything we’ve wanted to touch on musically between then. As much as we’re a bunch of hardcore and metalcore fans, we all grew up just as much into the posthardcore bands of the aughts and that very specific sound. The middle section and ending of the song was something that naturally developed when we wanted to lean in to some of the more melodic and poetic sounds of our influences (stuff like Hopesfall and Alexisonfire) without knowing what direction the song would go in and by the time we finished the record, it felt like a perfect encapsulation of the band’s current and past style.”
