Hit Biggest Ever One-Day Streams With

“A WORK OF ART”

As Terrifier 3 Dominates The Box Office

On Monday, October 14th, 2024, Ice Nine Kills is making waves with their latest single “A Work of Art,” which serves as the official track for the horror blockbuster Terrifier 3. This film dominated the US box office over the weekend, achieving an impressive $18.3 million during its opening—surpassing expectations and outperforming the high-budget Joker: Folie à Deux. “A Work of Art” has set new records for the band, amassing 645,390 streams and 453,000 views on YouTube within the first 24 hours, marking the most successful debut for a single song and video in Ice Nine Kills history. As of now, the track has already exceeded 1 million streams on Spotify.

The launch of “A Work of Art” coincided with the much-anticipated debut of Terrifier 3, which brought in over $8 million in the US on its opening day alone, outpacing the total domestic earnings of its franchise predecessor within just two days. The film also topped the opening night box office in France, where it was notably banned from being shown to anyone under 18—an occurrence not seen since 2006 with Saw 3. Directed by Damien Leone, the film is generating significant buzz and has successfully outperformed major studio releases, demonstrating that there is a strong appetite for unrated horror.

The music video for “A Work of Art,” directed by Jensen Noen, had a special one-night-only premiere in over 300 theaters across the country, featured alongside double screenings of Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3. A unique 14-minute extended version of the video was showcased at a special event in Beverly Hills, CA, on Thursday, October 11th, featuring Terry Kiser as Jimmy Fling in this extended cut. This marks Kiser’s first tribute to the iconic character of Bernie Lomax from the classic Weekend At Bernie’s.

The extended version is filled with gore, horror cameos, and stunning SFX makeup by Academy Award winner Christopher Nelson, all while contributing to the broader Ice Nine Kills universe. This showcases the band’s distinctive talent for merging horror and music in an unparalleled manner.

Speaking on the success of “A Work of Art, Spencer Charnas, frontman and creative force behind Ice Nine Kills, shared:

“This has been an unbelievable ride. Seeing both Terrifier 3 and our track reach these heights is something we never imagined, but at the same time, it’s what we dared to dream we could achieve. A Work of Art reflects everything we love about horror and music, and to have it resonate so deeply with our fans—and the Terrifier fanbase—has been unreal. Psychos, we’re just getting started!”

The collaboration between Ice Nine Kills and the Terrifier franchise has proven to be a perfect blend of horror. With “A Work of Art,” the band captures the chaotic energy of Art the Clown, delivering a track as bloody and relentless as the film. Fans are celebrating this pairing, marking it as a significant cultural moment in the horror and metal communities.
