“Ride The Flatline” is the latest single from Cleveland death metal band 200 STAB WOUNDS. This intense track is part of their newly released album, Manual Manic Procedures, which came out on June 28th through Metal Blade Records.
This album is their second, following their 2021 debut Slave To The Scalpel. Manual Manic Procedures is packed with old-school death metal but with a modern twist. It’s not for the faint-hearted and could be the record that brings back the fierce, gore-filled energy to the metal scene.
The song “Ride The Flatline” was written by bassist Ezra Cook and is inspired by a chemical spill in the Ohio River after a train derailment. Vocalist and guitarist Steve Buhl explains, “All the chemicals caught fire, and the Ohio River flows into Lake Erie, which supplies our water. So, the song is based on that, with some added drama like someone getting hit by a train and exploding.”
Slave To The Scalpel put 200 STAB WOUNDS on the map in the extreme metal world, earning praise for their straightforward approach, dark humor, and heavy, groovy riffs. Manual Manic Procedures takes everything to the next level, both musically and lyrically.
The album cover shows a graphic image of someone undergoing extreme surgery, reflecting the brutal nature of the music. This album isn’t for easy listening—its raw intensity is what makes it stand out in a music world where even heavy bands sometimes play it safe. 200 STAB WOUNDS created this album for hardcore fans of extreme metal, thrill-seekers, and horror lovers. It’s poised to become a future death metal classic.
Manual Manic Procedures was produced and mixed by Andy Nelson and mastered by Brad Boatwright. It’s available on CD, digital, and vinyl in various colors:
