Exile On Mainstream is making waves by reissuing BEEHOOVER’s second album, Heavy Zooo. Originally released on CD back in April 2008, this reissue marks the label’s first-ever reissue, and they’ve chosen to do it in style—on vinyl.

Trying to pin down BEEHOOVER’s sound is like trying to classify the Melvins or Primus—it’s a wild ride. Is it metal? Stoner rock? Jazz? Avant-garde? The truth is, it’s a bit of all these things and none of them at the same time. Heavy Zooo is a sonic zoo, a collection of bizarre, yet captivating creatures. With just bass and drums, BEEHOOVER creates an explosive blend of groove and intelligence. Their sound is familiar, yet strikingly original. Claus-Peter Hamisch (drums) and Ingmar Peterson (bass) take a fearless approach to their music, avoiding conventional structures and weaving traditional influences into a tapestry of emotional outbursts and haunting melancholy.

The vinyl edition of Heavy Zooo comes packed with the original artwork, including a 4-page folder showcasing Dirk Wachsmuth’s intense war animal illustrations. The 140-gram black vinyl has been remastered, delivering the music with a powerful punch, all housed in a beautifully printed sleeve.
