Oakland’s sludge metal and crust punk trio, DEADFORM, comprising former members of notable bands like Laudanum, Stormcrow, and Dystopia, is set to release their debut full-length album, “Entrenched In Hell”, today, October 25th, through Tankcrimes.
“Entrenched In Hell” represents a powerful blend of sludge metal and crust punk, showcasing the strengths and backgrounds of its three members. This six-track album follows their self-titled demo from 2022 and delves into themes such as war, cults, famine, and mortality, creating a profound connection to the topics at hand.
The result is a musical experience where disparate genres converge, creating an outcome that surpasses the individual components. The sound is characterized by heavy riffs, chugging rhythms, and thick distortion, yet it retains a sense of space that highlights the decades of songwriting expertise shared by the band.
