Italian death metal band FULCI is back with their fourth album, Duck Face Killings, a tribute to the infamous horror director Lucio Fulci. Known for iconic films like The Beyond and Zombi 2, Fulci left a lasting mark on horror cinema, inspiring the band to dedicate each of their albums to one of his gruesome masterpieces.
This time around, FULCI dives deep into The New York Ripper, one of Lucio’s most controversial films. The album captures the film’s dark and disturbing essence through a mix of brutal riffs, gut-wrenching slams, and eerie interludes. Imagine the soundtrack to the most twisted slasher film you’ve ever seen, and you’re close to what FULCI delivers on Duck Face Killings.
The album also features some notable guest appearances, including Lord Goat from Non Phixion on the track “Knife” and Sherwood Webber from Skinless on “Human Scalp Collection.” The band even throws in a saxophone solo on “Il Miele Del Diavolo,” performed by Mario Luce, adding an unexpected twist to their brutal sound.
Recorded at Till Deaf Recording Studios and mastered by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy), Duck Face Killings brings together a top-notch team to ensure every gruesome detail is captured. The album’s cover art, created by Wes Benscoter, reflects the same dark and twisted aesthetic that Lucio Fulci was known for.
For fans eager to get a taste of the new album, FULCI has released a visualizer for the track “Fucked With A Broken Bottle,” available on YouTube. The full album drops on August 9th through 20 Buck Spin, available in multiple formats including LP, CD, and digital.
FULCI will also be hitting the road this fall for the Devastation On The Nation Tour, joining heavyweights like Morbid Angel and Suffocation. The tour kicks off on November 15th in Tampa, FL, and runs through December 14th, wrapping up in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Tickets are on sale now.
