Berlin post-hardcore trio continues celebrating the release of its fourth studio album with a new visual and an extensive international touring schedule.
German alternative metal trio Future Palace has shared the official music video for “Nixy,” continuing the rollout surrounding the band’s recently released fourth studio album, Resurgence, which arrived on July 31 through Century Media Records.
The video arrives shortly after the album’s release, adding another visual chapter to a record that explores emotional recovery, personal growth, and confronting internal struggles. Throughout Resurgence, Future Palace blends post-hardcore aggression with atmospheric electronic textures, melodic passages, and crushing breakdowns while examining themes of depression, self-doubt, healing, and resilience.
According to guitarist Manuel Kohlert, “Nixy” stands apart musically within the album.
“‘Nixy’ stands out because it focuses on riffs and has an upbeat chorus, which makes the song deliver a unique tension. Playing it feels like a rollercoaster ride that is over way too quick.”
Lyrically, vocalist Maria Lessing said the song addresses the frequently debated idea of separating an artist’s work from their personal actions.
“‘Nixy’ is also a critique to the common phrase: Separate art from the artist.’ I think this is ignorance, especially if you translate it to other systems of the world. We should not separate the behavior from a person from what they also create. We should not only see want we want to see, just so we can keep consuming and ignore all the bad parts about it. Music and also the world should be a safe space for everyone. And for gaining safety for everyone, we sometimes need to see the uncomfortable truth and also be responsible for our actions.”
Lessing also described Resurgence as a reflection of personal transformation after years of writing about traumatic experiences.
“After going through many challenges in life, and even writing three albums about deeply personal and traumatic experiences, I oftentimes crave an end of suffering, a new beginning, a new version of myself and my life. Sometimes you need to imagine a different version of yourself, a stronger one, to find hope and keep going. The idea of a rebirth has come to my mind quite often. What would life be like? Who would we choose to become, after everything that we have learned so far?
“It’s also a process of healing, facing old painful wounds, releasing anger, finding love and finally also seeing hope in the future. I feel like that is a very leading theme in our band history and also connects all of our past work.”
From a musical perspective, Kohlert explained that the band deliberately expanded its sonic palette while maintaining the intensity that has defined Future Palace’s sound.
“One of my main goals with this album was to try to incorporate new styles (acoustic guitars, more industrial elements, ambient layers) and to make a consistent album that combines them with the best aspects of our earlier releases — keeping up the level of energy when needed, enjoying the lushness of harmonies and melodies or just letting go. Resurgence is definitely more defined and refined than what we did before — we always experimented, but this time it finally really all fits together.”
Made up of Maria Lessing, Manuel Kohlert, and Johannes Früchtenicht, Future Palace has steadily established itself as one of Europe’s rising alternative metal acts through emotionally driven songwriting and energetic live performances. The Berlin-based band has built a growing international audience in recent years, including its first major North American tour and increasingly successful headline runs across Europe.
Following the release of Resurgence, the group is spending much of 2026 on the road with festival appearances across Europe, a performance at Louder Than Life in Louisville, Kentucky, and its upcoming Deep Blue Tour 2026, featuring support from As Everything Unfolds, Luna Kills, Defences, and VINTA on select dates.
