Recurrence: The Indomitable Force of Metal Prepares to Unleash Their Sophomore Album “Art of Survival”
Scheduled for Release on November 5, 2025, via YYMBR Records
Hailing from Independence, Kentucky, the formidable metal band Recurrence is set to drop their highly anticipated sophomore album, “Art of Survival”, on November 5, 2025, through YYMBR Records. This album follows their powerful 2023 debut, “The Exit”, which was expertly mixed and mastered by J-F Dagenais (Kataklysm, Ex-Deo) and features stunning artwork by Niklas Sundin (ex-Dark Tranquillity).
“We have worked really hard on this album and it really ended up exceeding our expectations,” shares The Antidote, the band’s vocalist. “We also have a lot of amazing guest features on the album from some really great artists that have influenced us for a long time, and it was an honor to be able to work with them!”
Once again, Recurrence teamed up with J-F Dagenais and JFD Studios for mixing and mastering, bringing together a line-up of esteemed guest artists including Björn “Speed” Strid (Soilwork, Night Flight Orchestra), Peter Wichers (ex-Soilwork), Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry), Sebastian “Seppo” Lindgren (The Duskfall, We Are to Blame), and the beloved singer/songwriter Bec Hollcraft.
Following their inaugural co-headlining tour last year, Recurrence collaborated with award-winning music video producer Scott Hansen of Digital Thunderdome (known for works with Meshuggah, Sevendust, and A Day To Remember) and Björn Strid to create cutting-edge music videos for the upcoming release of “Art of Survival”.

The Antidote – Vocals, Justin Holliday – Lead Guitar
The lead single, “Remember Who the Enemy Is,” is set to release on June 27 and is inspired by the dystopian series “The Hunger Games”. The Antidote explains, “We chose this song to be our first single because we felt it fit the theme of the album perfectly. As a fan of “The Hunger Games” franchise, I wanted to have a music video that matched the lyrics of the song and the visuals of the films. Scott and his team at Digital Thunderdome went with our vision and built a whole set from scratch, and this video turned out better than we could have ever imagined!”
“Art of Survival” promises to be a groundbreaking fusion of various metal genres, incorporating heavy breakdowns, electronic influences, and authentic South American folk instruments performed by Ecuadorian musicians Andrés Villagomez and David Misael Pozo Bastidas. The Antidote highlights, “We have something very special and unique with this album, and we want to make sure we do all we can for the world to hear it. Although it is a lot darker lyrically and musically than “The Exit”, the album is still very much inspiring and about overcoming suffering and learning from failures. We pushed ourselves even harder this time around and experimented with new sounds and instruments, and we really believe we created something very unique in the world of metal.”

“Art of Survival” will be available for streaming and purchase on Bandcamp, Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, and all major digital platforms globally on November 5, 2025.
