After being silent for over thirteen years, the haunting yet familiar sounds from deep within Arkansas are back. RWAKE has returned with their latest release, The Return Of Magik, now available through Relapse Records.

This album showcases years of evolution, diving into a cosmic unknown. It features a sound that is intense and haunting yet stays true to RWAKE’s essence, drawing listeners into its emotionally charged journey. With arrangements crafted meticulously over the years, the album exudes a mysterious ambiance and builds toward cathartic moments, leaving listeners with an unforgettable experience.

To celebrate this release, RWAKE will also be performing live shows beginning in March 2025, including a hometown release event in Little Rock, Arkansas, on March 15th, slated for a potential live album recording.

This album was recorded in early 2024 at East End Sounds and features the debut of RWAKE’s guitar duo, John Judkins and Austin Sublett. The album is marked by electrifying, progressive metal riffs and a seamless mix of ambient soundscapes. Tracks like “You Swore We’d Always Be Together” and “Distant Constellations And The Psychedelic Incarceration” are already fan favorites, showcasing a spectrum of power and elegance.

RWAKE returns with dual vocals from Chris Terry and Brittany Fugate, supported by Jeff Morgan on the drums and additional instruments. The lineup is completed by Reid Raley, and the instrumentation creates a profound back-and-forth between tranquility and intensity, solidifying their place in modern sludge metal.

Despite the bleak themes in Magik, RWAKE’s celebration of their craftsmanship and legacy is evident throughout the album.
