Get ready for another dose of raw, relentless energy from Sweden’s hardcore punk giants, WOLFBRIGADE. On September 13th, the band will drop their eleventh studio album, Life Knife Death, via Metal Blade Records.
Formed in 1995 in the small Swedish town of Mariestad, WOLFBRIGADE—originally known as Wolfpack until 1999—has been a cornerstone of Scandinavia’s hardcore scene. Over the past 30 years, they’ve honed their craft, becoming one of the most respected and influential bands in the genre.

With Life Knife Death, WOLFBRIGADE pushes their sound to new heights, delivering an album packed with intensity and ferocity. Tracks like “Ways To Die” and “Your God Is A Corpse” pulse with a barely-contained rage, blending lightning-fast rhythms with raw emotion. The band took a more spontaneous approach to recording this time around, aiming to capture the primal energy of each song in its rawest form. “We didn’t really rehearse any of the songs on this album,” the band shares. “We wanted to go rough, to capture the raw essence of the song when it’s just out of the womb. All the blood and gore.”
The 12 tracks on Life Knife Death flow seamlessly, showing off WOLFBRIGADE’s knack for balancing brutality with melody. From the epic guitar intro of “Unruled And Unnamed” to the eerie outro of “The Age Of Skull Fuckery,” the album keeps listeners on their toes. WOLFBRIGADE pulls from a wide range of influences, blending the relentless drive of Discharge, the gritty rock ‘n’ roll of Motörhead, and even a twisted nod to The Beatles with the cheeky track title “A Day In The Life Of An Arse.”
Five years after their last album, The Enemy: Reality, WOLFBRIGADE returns to a world that seems to have spiraled further into chaos. Bassist Johan Erkenvåg once remarked that the political climate in recent years was the worst they’d ever seen. Now, with Life Knife Death, WOLFBRIGADE responds to the turmoil with a brutal, cathartic release. “The past five years have served as a pretty good backdrop for a new punk record,” the band states, drawing inspiration from the darker side of humanity.
To give fans a taste of what’s to come, WOLFBRIGADE has released the first single from the album, “Disarm Or Be Destroyed.” The track embodies the band’s signature style, merging the ugliness of desire with the beauty of destruction. “The urge to burn and destroy is also an urge to create and evolve,” they say. “There’s pleasure in smashing some things into pieces.”
Life Knife Death will be available on CD, digital formats, and vinyl in various limited-edition styles. Don’t miss out on pre-ordering your copy at metalblade.com/wolfbrigade.
