The South Florida metal band will release the five-song EP October 9 following its first European run and ahead of a Louder Than Life appearance.
Chained Saint has shared “Snakeskin,” the first preview of the Florida metal band’s forthcoming Rise to Fall EP, due October 9 across digital platforms.
The five-song release follows the group’s debut album, Blindside, and arrives after a busy stretch that included Chained Saint’s first European performances. The band spent July and August supporting Slaughter to Prevail, expanding its live experience beyond the U.S. while continuing to develop the mix of thrash, hardcore and groove-oriented metal that informs the new material.
Chained Saint self-produced Rise to Fall alongside Rob Roy at Power Station Studios. Guitarist Ethan Kahn also created the EP’s hand-drawn cover artwork.
“Snakeskin” arrives with a lyric video and gives listeners the first full look at the direction the band says developed through touring and performing songs in front of audiences.
“’Snakeskin’ feels like the beginning of the next chapter for Chained Saint,” the band said. “We’ve grown a lot since Blindside, as musicians, as songwriters, and especially from being out on the road and playing these songs in front of people.”
Rather than trying to settle on a single genre description, Chained Saint says its sound has become increasingly defined by the way different heavy styles overlap within its music.
“One thing we keep getting asked after shows is how we describe our sound, and we still don’t really have a perfect answer,” the band continued. “It’s just…us. There’s thrash, hardcore, and groove all living in the same place, and that combination has become a much bigger part of who we are as a band.”
That combination forms the foundation of Rise to Fall. According to Chained Saint, the newer songs place greater emphasis on speed, aggression and rhythmic weight while retaining the traditional metal influence that has been present since the group’s earliest material.
“With this new material, we leaned into that even more, the speed, riffs and aggression of thrash, the weight and raw energy of hardcore, and the kind of groove that makes the songs hit differently live,” the band said.
The EP represents the next recorded chapter after Blindside, Chained Saint’s eight-song debut issued through independent label Patriark Records. That record was produced by Alice In Chains vocalist and guitarist William DuVall and recorded and mixed to analog tape without computers during the recording sessions.
Since forming in a South Florida garage in summer 2022, Chained Saint has steadily expanded beyond its local beginnings. The band has appeared at festivals including Warped Tour, Welcome to Rockville and Sick New World, while its music has also found placements outside traditional rock and metal outlets.
Debut single “Animosity” was used as the theme for the WWE 2K24 DLC 4 trailer, and “1000 Tons” appeared during UFC broadcasts in summer 2025. SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal has also added the band to its programming.
Chained Saint’s connection with Slaughter to Prevail also developed from a festival moment. At Louder Than Life in 2025, severe weather led to the cancellation of Chained Saint’s scheduled set. Slaughter to Prevail subsequently invited vocalist Sean Sterling onstage during its own performance, beginning a relationship that later developed into the 2026 European support run.
The band is now preparing to return to Louder Than Life in Louisville on September 17, giving Chained Saint another opportunity to perform at the festival after the previous year’s weather interruption.
With Rise to Fall following less than two years after Blindside, “Snakeskin” suggests Chained Saint is using its growing touring experience to shape a heavier and more focused version of its sound rather than abandoning the thrash foundation that introduced the band.
