After a ten-year hiatus, one of Southwest Florida’s beloved bands is making a triumphant return to the stage, and they’re bringing the fire back to where it all began. On November 9th, The Buddha LIVE in Fort Myers will host this epic reunion show, featuring support from their brothers in VALLION and Coma Waves.

Cape Coral’s own Ekotren has been delivering crushing metal and energetic live shows since the mid-2000s. Known for blending aggressive riffs with melodic hooks, the band quickly made a name for themselves in the Florida metal scene. With two studio albums under their belt and numerous tours, Ekotren has proven they’re a force to be reckoned with.
Their debut album, Light the Fire (2008), set the stage for their hard-hitting sound. Produced by Paul Trust, the album features fast, heavy guitar riffs, growling vocals, and catchy choruses. Standout tracks like “Light the Fire” and “Chupacabra” are fan favorites, showcasing the band’s ability to balance aggression with melody.
Ekotren followed up in 2011 with The Dead of Night, a darker and more polished record. Once again produced by Paul Trust, the album dives deeper into atmospheric and dynamic songwriting. Songs like “The End of the Day” and “Blackened Sky” highlight the band’s evolving sound, while “Dead Behind the Eyes” delivers a powerful punch of intensity and emotion.
Over the years, Ekotren has toured extensively, sharing the stage with major acts like Hed PE, Ill Niño, and Five Finger Death Punch. Their live performances are intense, featuring technical precision and raw energy. Whether playing local Florida venues like The Ranch or performing at major festivals, Ekotren leaves it all on the stage, cementing their place in the metal scene.
With their blend of metalcore, melodic elements, and relentless energy, Ekotren continues to build their legacy as one of Florida’s standout metal acts.
