Hollywood Vampires are returning to one of the most memorable performances in the band’s history with the release of At Montreux Jazz Festival, a live album documenting their appearance at the famed Swiss festival in 2018.
The collection is scheduled for a digital release on August 7, followed by CD and vinyl editions on October 16 through earMUSIC. Alongside the announcement, the band has also shared a live performance video for “Raise the Dead,”offering fans an early look at the upcoming release.
Recorded during the group’s performance at the internationally recognized Montreux Jazz Festival, the album captures Hollywood Vampires performing a set that blends original material with classic rock staples and tributes to artists who helped shape the genre. Among the highlights is the band’s version of Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades,” a performance that serves as a tribute to the late Lemmy Kilmister and marks one of several cover recordings on the album that had not previously been released by Hollywood Vampires.
Comprised of Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, Joe Perry, and Tommy Henriksen, Hollywood Vampires draw their name and inspiration from the original Hollywood Vampires, a legendary gathering of musicians known for its close friendships and ties to the rock scene of the 1970s. That legacy has remained central to the band’s identity, influencing both its original music and its ongoing celebration of influential artists through live performances and cover songs.
The Montreux recording reflects that approach, presenting a concert built around well-known rock anthems alongside songs from the band’s own catalog. The set includes performances of “Raise the Dead,” “My Dead Drunk Friends,” “As Bad as I Am,” and “I Want My Now,” while also featuring interpretations of classics made famous by artists including AC/DC, The Who, Motörhead, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, David Bowie, and The Doors.
Hollywood Vampires first introduced themselves with their self-titled debut album in 2015, a project that combined original music with reinterpretations of classic rock songs and featured numerous guest appearances. They followed that release with Rise in 2019, expanding their catalog with more original material while continuing to establish themselves as a touring act known for bringing together some of rock’s most recognizable names on one stage.
The release of At Montreux Jazz Festival not only preserves a notable performance from the band’s live history but also arrives as Hollywood Vampires prepare to return to Europe. The group has announced an extensive run of dates beginning in London on August 12, 2026, before traveling across the United Kingdom and mainland Europe through early September.
