The Scranton metalcore band’s seventh album arrives July 17 via Roadrunner Records, with a major North American tour set for summer and fall.
Motionless In White have shared another preview of their upcoming album Decades with the release of “R.I.P.,” a new track featuring Skylar Grey. The song arrives ahead of the band’s seventh full-length album, which is scheduled for release on July 17 through Roadrunner Records.
The accompanying video was directed by Jensen Noen, who previously worked with the band on the videos for “Werewolf” and “Sign Of Life.” With “R.I.P.,” Motionless In White lean into a more dramatic and emotionally wounded side of their sound, pairing piano, dark synth textures, and a vocal exchange between Chris Motionless and Skylar Grey.
Chris Motionless described the song as one rooted in the aftermath of a painful falling out, even though it was written through a romantic perspective.

“Skylar’s voice brought it to another level that I never could have achieved on my own,” says singer Chris Motionless. “I really love the lyrics for this song. Even though I wrote it through a romantic lens, I love that it can be applied to any moment in your life when you’ve had a falling out with someone you deeply care about, whether that’s a best friend, family member, or romantic partner.”
He continued, “The song really hones in on the deafening silence that follows after you’ve said hurtful things to one another that you wish you could take back. It’s meant to capture the tension that exists in that quiet space of separation. You want to apologize and make things right, but you don’t know how. You want to tell them you love them more than anything and can’t live without them, but there’s a lot of pain on both sides that has to be confronted first. All the while, you’re left with the crippling uncertainty of whether the relationship can ever recover and move forward, or if it’s destined to be laid to rest and gone forever.”
“R.I.P.” is one of several collaborations featured on Decades. The album also includes “Playing God” featuring Corey Taylor, “Blood Rave” featuring Anthony Martinez of Dark Divine, and bonus tracks including “Fight Like Hell” featuring Outlier.
The album was recorded in Upstate New York and Los Angeles with co-producers Drew Fulk and Justin “JD” deBlieck. According to the band, Decades pulls from different eras of Motionless In White’s sound while pushing the group into heavier and more aggressive territory.
“We were never afraid to take risks,” Chris Motionless said. “This band has not only lasted two decades, but we’ve also outlasted all of the obstacles we’ve faced. We’re still grinding. No matter how far we expand the universe that is Motionless In White, we’re going to preserve the heart, soul, and roots of where we came from. We are never going to abandon heartfelt, emotional, and heavy songs. We are never going to abandon what mattered to us the most when we started. We’re finding new ways to emphasize those stories with exciting sounds and looks, but the vision is the same. It’s always been this grand, dramatic, and theatrical entity. I’m proud we haven’t gotten comfortable.”
He added, “Decades is definitely heavier than some of our past albums. Our current world bred more aggressive energy, anger, and resistance.”
The release comes as Motionless In White continue building on more than 20 years as one of modern heavy music’s most visually driven and theatrical acts. Formed in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the band has long blended metalcore, goth, industrial, electronic, and alternative influences, building a fanbase around both their heavy sound and dark cinematic presentation.
Motionless In White recently wrapped a Spring 2026 arena tour with Bring Me the Horizon, including a performance at Madison Square Garden. The band will return to the road in July for The Sweat and Blood Tour, a Live Nation-promoted North American headline run with Lorna Shore, Fit For A King, and Static Dress.
The summer leg begins July 14 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and includes stops in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Houston, Austin, Charlotte, Oklahoma City, and more before closing August 15 in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The run also includes Motionless In White’s first headlining performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado.
A second leg of The Sweat and Blood Tour follows this fall with Dayseeker, The Devil Wears Prada, and Dark Divine. That stretch begins October 30 in Worcester, Massachusetts, and continues through November 20 in Pittsburgh.
