The acoustic-focused run will bring Daughtry’s catalog to theaters and intimate venues with support from Ryan Perdz.
Daughtry will mark two decades of music this fall with 20 Years Unplugged, a U.S. tour built around stripped-down performances of songs from across the band’s career. The run begins October 12 at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy, New York, and continues through November 14 at the Majestic Theatre in Dallas, Texas.
The tour will feature support from Ryan Perdz, the Buffalo, New York singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose debut album Can’t Cry is scheduled for release on August 14 through Big Machine Rock.
The fall tour offers a different kind of setting for a band often associated with arena-sized rock choruses and radio staples. Rather than presenting the catalog in its usual full-band form, 20 Years Unplugged will reframe Daughtry’s songs in a more intimate acoustic environment, putting greater focus on the lyrics, arrangements, and Chris Daughtry’s vocal delivery.
The announcement follows the release of SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM (DELUXE), the complete edition of Daughtry’s two-part project through Big Machine Rock. The collection includes SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM (PART ONE) and SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM (PART TWO), along with additional live recordings. Recent tracks including “ARTIFICIAL,” “PIECES,” “THE BOTTOM,” and “ANTIDOTE” have shown the band leaning into heavier and more emotionally direct material while continuing to build on the melodic foundation that first brought them mainstream rock success.
Daughtry’s history remains one of the more notable success stories in 21st-century rock. The band’s self-titled debut became the top-selling album of 2007 and the fastest-selling rock debut album in SoundScan history, according to the provided announcement. Over the years, Daughtry have earned multiple platinum and gold certifications, two No. 1 debuts on the Billboard 200, four GRAMMY Award nominations, four American Music Awards, and seven Billboard Music Awards.
The band’s catalog has continued through albums including Leave This Town, Break The Spell, Baptized, Cage To Rattle, and Dearly Beloved. More recently, singles such as “World On Fire,” “Heavy Is The Crown,” and “Changes Are Coming” reached the Top 10 at Billboard Rock Airplay, while the band’s 2023 version of Journey’s “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” featuring Lzzy Hale of Halestorm became another standout moment in Daughtry’s later era.
For longtime fans, 20 Years Unplugged serves as both a milestone tour and a chance to hear familiar songs in a different emotional frame. For newer listeners, the run offers a focused entry point into a catalog that has moved between post-grunge, hard rock, alternative rock, and heavier modern rock across two decades.
Ryan Perdz’s role as support also connects the tour to Big Machine Rock’s newer generation of rock artists. Perdz, 25, began teaching himself guitar at age ten and later expanded into bass, violin, and mandolin. Raised on his grandparents’ family farm, he draws from influences including Nirvana, Chris Cornell, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Led Zeppelin while shaping his own guitar-driven sound. Before signing with Big Machine Rock in 2025, he independently released multiple singles and his First Sight EP.
His upcoming album Can’t Cry follows the release of songs including “Sour,” “Heavy Eyes,” and a reimagining of MGMT’s “Time to Pretend.”
