RECIDIVIST: Salt Lake City Death Metal/Hardcore Quintet Drops “Madness Malformed” Featuring Alex Herrera Of Spinebreaker; Debut LP Out November 1st Via Creator-Destructor Records
Hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah, the death metal and hardcore band RECIDIVIST is gearing up to release their debut album, “Madness Malformed”, through Creator-Destructor Records. The brutal title track, which includes guest vocals from Spinebreaker’s Alex Herrera, is now available for listening.
“Madness Malformed” was produced by Nic Kartchner at The Grotto, mixed by Ryan Bram at Homewrecker Studios (known for working with Gatecreeper and Terminal Nation), and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (who has worked with Obituary, Nails, and Full Of Hell). The album’s striking cover art comes from John Quevado Janssens. Fans of bands like Kruelty, Terminal Nation, Tribal Gaze, 200 Stab Wounds, Sanguisugabogg, Vomit Forth, Skinless, and Spinebreaker will not want to miss the onslaught that RECIDIVIST delivers.
Vocalist Zachary Williams shares his thoughts on the title track, stating, “‘Madness Malformed’ is really where the lyrical concept of the album reveals its ugly, disfigured face. Up to this point, the songs all refer to having hallucinations and visions about being placed in the middle of some of the most horrific situations I could imagine. In the title track, it’s revealed that a heinous entity is creating every one of these nightmarish scenarios, and it’s plotting to take the life of the being trapped in these situations. I also wanted the essence to speak in a different voice, so as soon as I heard the outro to the song, I knew that’s where Alex (Spinebreaker) had to be.”

This upcoming album is a bold testament to modern death metal, blending themes from 1980s horror and 1990s composition with cutting-edge production. Featuring eight brand new tracks and a re-recording of the “Cryptic Nightmare” single, the LP showcases thirty minutes of intense hardcore/death metal fusion.
