Apophenia promises a relentlessly captivating listening experience, featuring nine new tracks that offer a blend of intense transitions and heavy, technically proficient death metal that leaves no room for mediocrity.
The album was meticulously recorded throughout Poland in 2023. Drums were engineered and recorded by Krzysztof Godycki at Roslyn Studio, while bass was tracked at Kamil Home Studio. Guitars and vocals were laid down at Zed Studio, where Tomek Zalewski also mixed and mastered the album in early 2024. The intros and outros were crafted by Mścisław, with the outro for “Feretory” credited to Head.One.Beatz. The cover art comes from the late Mariusz Lewandowski, known for his work with artists like Mizmor and Bell Witch, while the design and layout were handled by Michał Kaczkowski, with photography by Marcin Studziński.
Regarding the new track, DEIVOS vocalist Hubert Banach shares, “‘My Sacrifice’ is about the things that are sacrificed for a false promise of a better life after death.”

DEIVOS has been active since 1997, releasing their first demo, Praised By Generations, in 1999. After a brief hiatus, they returned in 2003 with the “Hostile Blood” EP, which garnered positive attention within the underground death metal scene. Their debut album, “Emanation From Below”, was recorded in early 2006 at the renowned Hertz Studio and released in Poland later that year, followed by European and U.S. releases in subsequent years.
In late 2008, the band returned to Hertz Studio to record their second album, “Gospel Of Maggots”, which caught the interest of Unique Leader Records, leading to its release in early 2010. After some lineup changes, DEIVOS recorded their third album, “Demiurge Of The Void”, in 2011, also under Unique Leader.
After a four-year break, DEIVOS signed with Selfmadegod Records for their album “Theodicy”, released in February 2015. Their next two albums, “Endemic Divine” and “Casus Belli”, followed suit in 2017 and 2019, respectively, also released through Selfmadegod Records.
