Florida’s heavy rock band THE ELECTRIC MUD is set to release their new album, “Ashes And Bone”, on October 4th through Small Stone Recordings.
After a three-year hiatus since their “Black Wool” EP, the band, spurred by support from friends and Small Stone, is eager to announce their comeback. They feel they have more to express and that their best music lies ahead. A full-length album was deemed necessary to convey this evolution.
The writing sessions revealed a central theme: mankind’s fixation on self-destruction. THE ELECTRIC MUD aims to explore the darker aspects of human nature against a heavy, post-apocalyptic backdrop. They recorded at Juniper Recordings in Cape Coral, Florida, with producer Caleb Neff, fostering a collaborative studio environment. The album’s mix by Ben Mcleoud, guitarist for All Them Witches, further enhances its depth. “Ashes And Bone” is a testament to their passion for music and each other.
With a heavier sound influenced by the likes of Soundgarden and Black Sabbath, the album marks a significant step forward while addressing unfinished business.
Ahead of the release, THE ELECTRIC MUD has shared their first single, “Top Of The Tree.” Constantine Grim remarks, “‘Top Of The Tree’ was chosen for its pace and energy, serving as a lens into humanity’s self-destructive tendencies throughout history. It offers a perspective on the end of the world from a position of privilege, paired with an apocalyptic soundtrack.”
