WE CAME AS ROMANS Make a Powerful Return with New Anthem “Bad Luck”

The esteemed metalcore band We Came As Romans has returned with an electrifying new single titled “Bad Luck.” This release marks their first of the year and ushers in an exciting new chapter following the success of their critically acclaimed 2022 album, “Darkbloom”. Packed with intense grooves, memorable hooks, and deep introspection, “Bad Luck” serves as a defiant statement from a band that has endured more than their fair share of challenges. Frontman Dave Stephens elaborates on the significance of the new single, stating, “Bad Luck is a song that is so important to each of us. Lyrically, it’s about our journey as a band since the very beginning. We’ve faced so many setbacks and problems behind the scenes, and sometimes it feels like Bad Luck is all we have — but the way that we’ve persevered through all of them to become who we are today is the real story, not the issues along the way.”

Opening with a haunting, looped vocal sample, “Bad Luck” quickly crescendos into a powerful riff and soaring chorus. The lyrics reflect years of struggle and resilience, culminating in one of the band’s iconic, arena-ready choruses: “I spent all my life wondering why the bad luck always comes so easy… All this time, I’ve realized the worse things in life are free.” This anthem captures the grit of We Came As Romans’ journey and their unwavering determination to move forward.

The band has already lined up performances at significant US summer festivals, including Welcome To Rockville, Inkcarceration, the returning Warped Tour, Louder Than Life, and When We Were Young. With more exciting news on the horizon, 2025 is poised to be another remarkable year for We Came As Romans, a band that has remained a pivotal force in heavy music for nearly two decades. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon.

ABOUT WE CAME AS ROMANS

We Came As Romans continue to advance and evolve rapidly, maintaining their leadership position in heavy music culture. They effortlessly blend crushing, groove-driven catharsis with ethereal electronics and colossal singalongs, creating a dynamic sound that refuses to conform—moving seamlessly through metal, alternative, hardcore, and rock.

Hailing from Michigan, the five-piece band—Dave Stephens, Joshua Moore, Lou Cotton, Andy Glass, and David Puckett—first rose to prominence with “Tracing Back Roots” in 2013, which broke into the Billboard 200 Top 10 and topped both the Independent Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums charts. Their 2015 self-titled album debuted at #11 on the Billboard 200, solidifying their status as modern metalcore icons.

In the wake of the tragic passing of original vocalist Kyle Pavone in 2018, the band has honored his memory through their 2022 album, “Darkbloom”, which received widespread acclaim. Kerrang! awarded it 4 out of 5 stars, stating it is “a carrier for a knot of emotion, and a tribute to their friend.” The album features standout tracks like “Black Hole” (featuring Caleb Shomo), which has amassed over 102 million streams on Spotify, and “Daggers” (featuring Zero 9:36), surpassing 32 million streams. Publications including Loudwire and Consequence lauded the album for its emotional depth, sonic intensity, and raw vulnerability.

“Bad Luck” serves as the next milestone in their journey—an anthem shaped by loss, scars, and relentless ambition.
