AUTHORITY ZERO CELEBRATES 30 YEARS WITH NEW EP THIRTY YEARS: SPEAKING TO THE YOUTH OUT NOVEMBER 1ST

Legendary Arizona punk band Authority Zero is marking their 30th anniversary with a new six-song EP, Thirty Years: Speaking to the Youth, set to drop on November 1st. The lead single, “Lights Out,” is already available, and fans can also catch the music video, which perfectly captures the band’s raw energy and timeless spirit.

Formed in the early 90s by high school friends in Mesa, Arizona, Authority Zero has always been about more than just music—it’s about a message. Frontman Jason DeVore explains that the new EP is all about self-belief and standing up for what matters. “It’s about the journey of life and being aware of every moment—good or bad,” he shares. “If there’s something you love or believe in, fight for it and embrace it fully.”

The EP reflects DeVore’s view of the world through the lens of his own experiences, combining personal introspection with an appeal to future generations. As the title suggests, Speaking to the Youth aims to resonate with both their younger selves and today’s youth, urging them to find their voice and stand strong in their convictions.

Authority Zero—DeVore, bassist Mike Spero, guitarist Brandon Landelius, and drummer Chris Dalley—wrote the EP in just one week back in Arizona. “It’s really what Authority Zero sounds like when you put the four of us in a room together,” says DeVore.

They then took the tracks to Maple Studios in Santa Ana, California, to work with longtime producer Cameron Webb, who also produced their 2021 album Ollie Ollie Oxen Free and 2013’s The Tipping Point.

With three decades under their belts, Authority Zero continues to push forward, blending their past with a forward-looking perspective. Thirty Years: Speaking to the Youth is a reflection of who they are now, and the timeless messages they’ve always shared.

Fans can look forward to the full EP on November 1st!!
