Exciting news from the heavy metal world: AVATAR unveiled a reimagined piano version of their song “Tower.” Fans can watch the video and stream the track for a unique experience that shows a different side of the band. Known for their theatrical and darkly creative style, the band members—Johannes Eckerström, Jonas Jarlsby, Tim Öhrström, Henrik Sandelin, and John Alfredsson—are expressing their deep gratitude with this release.
“This version of ‘Tower’ became a special moment in a very special period of our lives,” states Eckerström. “It feels natural to use it as a way to stop and look back for just a moment before we move forward with full force. It’s a thank you to everyone who stands by our side and makes the magic happen.” The original track hails from their acclaimed 2014 album, Hail the Apocalypse.
But that’s not all—big plans are on the horizon for AVATAR. They’re gearing up to hit the studio early this year to work on their tenth studio album, following the success of Dance Devil Dance from 2023, with Jay Ruston set to produce. The album is anticipated to drop in 2025 under their own label, Black Waltz Records, distributed by Thirty Tigers.
