DED Expand RESENT With Deluxe Edition and New Track “DENOUNCER”

The UNFD release adds unreleased songs and demos as the Phoenix band prepares for a summer headline tour with Dropout Kings and VRSTY.

DED have released RESENT: Deluxe Edition via UNFD, expanding their September 2025 album with additional material from the creative sessions behind the record.

The deluxe version arrived on July 3 and adds 11 tracks to the original 12-song album, including unreleased songs, demos, and the newly shared track “DENOUNCER,” which premiered through SiriusXM Octane. The expanded edition gives fans a broader look at the writing process around RESENT, the band’s third studio album and first release through UNFD.

Frontman Joe Cotela said the deluxe edition was designed to show more of what surrounded the album’s creation.

“We thought it would be cool to put everything out there and give people a look behind the curtain,” Cotela said. “These songs and demos were all part of the creative process behind RESENT, and we wanted fans to hear the full picture of what we were working on during that era.”

The deluxe edition includes five additional songs, among them the previously released “Weapon” and “DENOUNCER.” Three of the songs were considered for the original album before being left off the final tracklist, while six demos range from early concepts to more developed recordings.

Cotela described “DENOUNCER” as a song he had long believed in, even though it did not ultimately fit the original version of RESENT.

“I’ve always loved this song. I wanted it on the record, but I think it ended up feeling a little left-of-center compared to the rest of the album. It’s not necessarily a strange song, but it has a different energy and perspective that made it stand apart from the other tracks. Looking back, that may be exactly what makes it interesting.

“At its core, the song is about finding your own spiritual power and refusing to hand that power over to people who want to use fear, guilt, or authority to control others. A lot of the inspiration came from seeing evangelists, institutions, politicians, and religious figures use faith as a tool for influence rather than a path to connection. The song isn’t about attacking pure religion or telling people what to believe. It’s about questioning anyone who claims to speak on behalf of something greater or weaponizing that for gain while using that position to manipulate others.

“For me, spirituality, faith, love, energy, life, death, the essence of being alive—those are deeply personal experiences. No other human being can define my relationship with the universe, with the creator, or with whatever connects us all. I believe people should be encouraged to look deep within themselves, ask questions, and find their own path rather than externally and faithfully following someone else’s version of truth. Ultimately, ‘DENOUNCER’ is a reminder that we should question everything we think we know—not from a place of cynicism, but from a place of curiosity, growth, and personal freedom. Well, maybe a little cynicism.”

The expanded release arrives as DED continue to build on a catalog rooted in heavy, emotionally charged rock. The Phoenix band, made up of Joe Cotela, guitarist Alex Adamcik, bassist Kyle Koelsch, and drummer Matt Reinhard, first gained national attention with Mis-An-Thrope, followed by School of Thought. Their sound pulls from nü metal, hardcore, punk, and rock, balancing aggressive production with hooks and choruses built for live rooms.

DED’s earlier run included more than 25 million streams around Mis-An-Thrope, Billboard chart appearances, and Active Rock Radio success with “Anti-Everything” and “Remember the Enemy.” SiriusXM Octane previously named the band “Artist Discovery of the Year,” while Loudwire nominated them for Best New Artist. The band has also toured with Korn, Stone Sour, In This Moment, Black Veil Brides, and appeared at festivals including Aftershock, Louder Than Life, Rocklahoma, Carolina Rebellion, Rock on the Range, and ShipRocked.

With RESENT: Deluxe Edition, DED are not simply repackaging the album. The release functions more like an archive of the era, showing the songs that shaped the final record, the tracks that almost made it, and the rawer versions that reveal how the material developed.

DED will support the release on a July and August headline tour with Dropout Kings and VRSTY, including festival appearances at Inkcarceration Festival and Rock Fest.
