Dominum Release “Dark Melodies” and Reveal Extensive European Headline Tour

New single arrives ahead of Night Is Calling, due July 3 via Napalm Records

German modern metal act Dominum have shared “Dark Melodies,” the latest single from their upcoming third album, Night Is Calling, which arrives July 3 through Napalm Records.

Accompanied by a newly released music video, “Dark Melodies” offers another glimpse into the band’s growing blend of theatrical storytelling, melodic metal, and horror-inspired imagery. The track stands apart from previous singles through its waltz-driven rhythm and darker atmosphere, while still delivering the large choruses and accessible hooks that have become central to Dominum’s sound.

Led by vocalist and creative force Felix Heldt, better known to fans as Dr. Dead, Dominum have quickly become one of the more recognizable emerging names in modern European metal. Their 2024 album The Dead Don’t Die reached the Top 10 of the German album charts and helped establish the band beyond the theatrical concept that first attracted attention.

Since then, Dominum have expanded their audience through appearances alongside major artists including Bruce Dickinson, Avantasia, Battle Beast, and Peyton Parrish, while also building a reputation on festival stages and headline tours throughout Europe.

Discussing the inspiration behind “Dark Melodies,” Dr. Dead described the song as a reflection on isolation and the lingering voices that remain even when no one else can hear them.

“I never had a problem being alone. At least, I thought I didn’t. But for some time now – far too long – I’ve been hearing these melodies. Always. They whisper in my mind, tugging at me, like a black shadow sneaking into my heart,” Dr. Dead said. “Sometimes sweet, sometimes bitter, but always an unstoppable pull I cannot escape.”

The track serves as the third preview of Night Is Calling, an album that continues the band’s undead-themed narrative while expanding its musical scope. According to the announcement, the record was produced by Felix Heldt and mixed by renowned producer Jacob Hansen.

The album features a mix of heavy riffs, cinematic arrangements, and melodic choruses, including songs such as “Doctor Doctor,” “Children Of The Night,” and the title track “Night Is Calling,” which features a guest appearance from Battle Beast.

One of the more unexpected entries on the track listing is a metal interpretation of Michael Jackson’s classic “Thriller,” while acoustic versions of “Don’t Get Bitten By The Wrong Ones” and “Hey Living People” round out the release.

Reflecting on the new album, Dr. Dead described Night Is Calling as a natural evolution for both the band and its fictional universe.

“We have the power to reshape our world. And oh, we do. ‘Night is Calling’ — This is our outlet. Stronger melodies, heavier riffs, sharper, unflinching lyrics — honesty as our deadliest weapon.”

Alongside the single release, Dominum have announced the Night Is Calling Tour 2026, a European headline run beginning in November and extending through December. The tour will include stops across France, Germany, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and more.

Before the headline tour begins, the band will continue its summer festival schedule with appearances at Metalfest Open Air, Rock Harz Festival, Reload Festival, and additional events throughout Europe. Dominum will also join Judas Priest and Thundermother for a performance at Germany’s Loreley Freilichtbühne in August.

Looking Ahead

Less than two years after breaking into the German Top 10 with The Dead Don’t Die, Dominum are continuing to build momentum through consistent touring, festival appearances, and a growing international profile. With Night Is Calling set for release and a major European headline tour already scheduled, the band appears positioned for another significant step forward in 2026.
