INEPSY’s classic album, “City Weapons,” is set for a special reissue on limited edition vinyl through Tankcrimes. Originally released in 2005, this iconic album from Canada’s d-beat crust metal punk legends is coming back to life on April 11th. The band, which erupted onto the scene in 1999 and remained active until 2011, has a formidable legacy of EPs and LPs, all of which are being reissued by Tankcrimes.

Bandcamp Daily perfectly captures the essence of “City Weapons” by describing it as “a Mad Max apocalypse in audio, populated by burned-out cars and gleaming chrome motorbikes; grimy guitars and blitzing drums; Iron Maiden atmosphere and Amebix attitude.”

The reissue will feature the vinyl in several vivid color options:

– Orange Crush/Yellow Merge with White, Yellow, Orange Splatter (200 copies)

– Orange Crush with White, Yellow, Black Splatter, exclusive to Australia (250 copies)

– Orange Crush Cloud (550 copies)

– Orange Crush (1000 copies)

You can secure your copy today from the TANKCRIMES webshop, where you’ll also find the debut EP “See You In Hell” (2002) and their first LP “Rock ‘N’ Roll Babylon” (2003).

Mike Thorn, a longtime supporter of Tankcrimes and former Maximum Rocknroll editor, shares about his introduction to INEPSY:

“It was a phone call from my partner Anandi from behind the counter at the legendary Mission Records in San Francisco which opened the door for me. ‘We need to go to Warm Water Cove today… there were just the cutest bunch of Canadian punx in here playing there later.’ That was my first introduction to the Montreal juggernaut known as INEPSY – filthy, loud, rock ‘n’ roll rampagers blasting a wave of destruction across the North American continent. The face-melting combination of Motörhead, Sodom, and Voivod rammed headlong into Discharge, GBH, and Varukers. An auditory representation of the visual landscape presented in Mad Max films – desperate, raw, angry, and primal.”

The band’s trajectory from its early råpunk/Scandi influences to their uniquely Motö-charge style truly began with their first EP “See You In Hell,” paving the way for the intense sounds of “Rock ‘N’ Roll Babylon.”

These releases have carved a deep influence into the metal punk world, their sound resonating with the chaotic energy of Motörhead and Lemmy. As quickly as they appeared, they vanished, leaving a legacy reverberating through raw punk and metal. Their bombastic tracks are a testament to their enduring impact and leave us eagerly asking, “Who’s Next?”
