Prophecy, hailed for its innovation, is now available on Metal Blade Records and has quickly climbed the Billboard charts, securing spots like #1 in Electronic Albums and #14 in Current Hard Rock Albums.
GOST, conceived by the versatile James Lollar, sits uniquely at the intersection of black metal and shadowy electronic music. Since 2013, Lollar has been crafting sounds that defy the conventional synthwave label, offering listeners a journey to the ominous core of digital darkness.
Prophecy, Lollar’s latest endeavor, channels the intense and perilous landscape of today’s societal issues, reflecting signs of “being rolled back to the fucking 1950s.” Created solo in Texas during late 2022, this record returns to GOST’s roots after the experimentations seen in Valediction.
Tracks like “Death In Bloom,” “Decadent Decay,” and “Golgotha” blend synthwave’s energy, black metal’s rawness, and Ministry’s fierce intensity, forming a truly formidable auditory experience.
Prophecy is accessible in CD, vinyl, and digital formats. Head over to metalblade.com/gost for purchasing details.

Check out GOST’s latest videos, including “Leviathan,” “Judgement/Prophecy,” and the lyric video for “Widow Song.”
According to Decibel Magazine, “Hellish blasts of blackened industrial like ‘Death In Bloom’ and ‘Digital Death’ harken back to the digital demonology of 2018’s Possessor…” while Revolver exclaims: “Bewitching black-metal hisses laid over thumping darkwave synths and thwacking industrial drums. A match made in Hell.”
Kerrang describes the atmosphere of GOST’s Prophecy as “nocturnal and sinister, bathed in crimson neon… more ritual than rave.” Meanwhile, MetalSucks notes the album’s ability to channel both anger and dance energy, calling it “strangely cathartic.”
Finally, No Clean Singing celebrates Prophecy as a fundamental work for synth and metal enthusiasts alike, saying it will leave a lasting impact with its unparalleled blend of sounds.
