The Australian technical death metal band will begin the month-long run in New Jersey with support from Inferi, Cognitive and Summoning The Lich.
Psycroptic will return to the United States and Canada this fall for a month-long headlining tour supporting the band’s latest album, The Pulse Of Annihilation.
The North American run begins November 5 at Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey, and concludes December 6 at Woodshop in Brooklyn, New York. Inferi, Cognitive and Summoning The Lich will provide support throughout the tour, although Summoning The Lich will not appear at the Salt Lake City or Denver dates.
The itinerary includes 26 performances across the United States and Canada, giving Psycroptic the opportunity to perform an extended headlining set rather than the shorter presentation typically available during support runs or festival appearances.
“We’re very excited to announce the first North American tour dates in support of The Pulse Of Annihilation. It’s always a privilege to be able to tour the US and Canada – especially when we can play a longer set with a headlining show. Get your tickets, and come out and party with us,” drummer David Haley said in the announcement.
Before beginning the North American tour, Psycroptic will complete a series of international performances in August. The band is scheduled to join fellow Metal Blade Records act Rivers Of Nihil for five Australian dates, including an appearance at Necrosonic Festival in Brisbane on August 22.
That run will be followed by four Japanese shows with The Zenith Passage, The Scalar Process, Carrion Veal and Let It Rot. The Japan itinerary begins August 24 in Osaka and includes one performance in Nagoya and two consecutive dates at Space Odd in Tokyo.
The touring schedule follows the July 17 release of The Pulse Of Annihilation through Metal Blade Records. The album continues Psycroptic’s long-running approach to technical death metal, combining intricate guitar work, rhythmic precision and dense arrangements with a greater emphasis on controlled composition.
The record also continues the vocal partnership between longtime Psycroptic vocalist Jason Peppiatt and Origin vocalist Jason Keyser. The two-vocalist configuration was introduced on the band’s previous full-length album, Divine Council, and returns throughout The Pulse Of Annihilation.
Peppiatt and Keyser are joined by guitarist Joe Haley, drummer David Haley and bassist Todd Stern. The current lineup reflects the technical discipline that has defined Psycroptic since the band emerged from Tasmania more than two decades ago.
Artwork for The Pulse Of Annihilation was created by Belial Necroarts, whose credits include work with Gaerea and In Aeternum. The album is available digitally and in digipak CD and vinyl editions.
Psycroptic previously released music videos for “Gathering A Venomous Herd,” “No Blade Of Grass” and “Ashes Of A New Dawn” as part of the album’s rollout.
