Finnish rock veterans will bring Weirdo to U.S. and Canadian audiences before continuing on headline runs across Latin America and Europe.
After more than two decades of building a dedicated international following, Finnish rock band The Rasmus are preparing to headline their first-ever North American tour. The long-awaited run begins September 6 in Chicago and concludes October 12 in Los Angeles, marking a milestone for a band whose music has resonated with fans across the globe since the early 2000s.
The tour follows the group’s spring 2026 U.S. run supporting The HU and arrives during the promotional cycle for Weirdo, the band’s latest album released through Better Noise Music. Joining The Rasmus throughout the North American dates will be Saint Agnes and Death Valley Dreams.
Frontman Lauri Ylönen acknowledged the significance of the announcement, particularly for longtime fans who have waited years to see the band headline in North America.
“It feels surreal that after all these years, we finally get to play our first ever headline tour in the U.S.,” enthuses Ylönen. “We have super devoted fans who some have been waiting over 20 years to see us live. These shows will be loaded with emotion and fierce energy.”
For many rock fans, The Rasmus remain best known for their breakthrough 2003 single “In the Shadows,” a song that helped introduce the Finnish group to a global audience. Since then, the band has continued to evolve its sound by blending melodic rock, heavy guitar work, electronic textures, and pop-influenced songwriting across multiple studio albums.
Over the course of their career, The Rasmus have sold more than five million albums worldwide, including more than 350,000 in their native Finland. Their catalog has earned numerous gold and platinum certifications, while the band has also received several major industry honors, including Finnish Emma Awards and an MTV Europe Music Award.
The upcoming headline tour represents another step in the band’s continued international touring schedule. Once the North American dates conclude in October, The Rasmus will head directly into a Latin American headline tour running through early November before launching an extensive European headline trek beginning in late January 2027.
With stops spanning clubs, theaters, and a festival appearance at Louder Than Life, the North American itinerary gives fans across the United States and Canada the opportunity to experience a full headline performance from the band for the first time.
